St. George Pizza: Stayed in Wiscasset last time I was in Maine! Went to the Coastal Botanical Gardens, rode a schooner in the bay, and then went to St. George Pizza. An actual dream that I perpetually think about.

cabbage island clambakes: I recommend to everyonnneeee that goes to Maine! You get TWO lobsters, a sightseeing boat tour, a picnic on a beautiful island, need I say more? It’s the best 1000/10 recommend.

take the ferry to peaks island: Recommend ferry trips out to islands around Portland!! Peak’s is so cute and very Maine to me, but there are other great ones. Also, Macksworth island is a drive and has a nice walking trail

Maine: If you have time in portland to sauna the Washington Baths are life changing and wonderful and have a delicious food menu too. The Post Supply and Onggi down the road from sauna also for shopping. Nightmoves and tandem for baked goods. Midcoast is Cafe Grazie (emphasis on Cafe Grazie, it’s a must), Sammy’s Deluxe, Luce Spirits, Chase’s Daily, Long Grain for eating! Shopping in midcoast is great at Curator and Little Fox for consigned adult and kids clothing. Fog Wine for wine. And yes to Mcloon’s for Lobster Rolls! Best in town. Tinderhearth up by Acadia is excellent!

The Giant Trolls at Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens: These gardens are about an hour north of Portland on the way to Acadia, and the giant trolls are a magical addition to an already stunning drive.

Twelve: Easily the best meal I had in Maine last summer (and there’s some stiff competition). Every course was perfection, and the art installation by Christina Watka elevated it even more. Do a later reservation to get the warmest glow.

- Portland food: scales, wayside, twelve, rosemont, Ramona’s sandwiches, Vientiane market

Portland to do: take a ferry to the islands and ride rented bicycles, visit the art museum

- up the coast on route one:

- food: 5 islands for lobster rolls and seafood, mclunes lobster rolls (these are better than reds IMO), Sammy’s deluxe, long grain, palace diner, chases daily

- to do: farnsworth art museum, Maine coastal botanical gardens 🩷 enjoy!!!
