This is the feeling I had when I watched Rocky for the first time last year. Felt like I was seeing a real person and a real city in a movie for the first time in a long time. It was great.

rocky is such a good example of this. rockys apartment is such great set design and character creation. plus it’s this grounded talky 70’s cinema thing and then the last 20 minutes deliver an espresso shot and such a satisfying resolution.
