This grungy and delightful hostel near the base of Mt. Fuji, Japan: The breakfast here is incredible, the owner is really kind, and it’s an easy hike to the famous Chureito Pagoda with stunning views of the mountain, on a clear day (especially if you make the effort to go at dawn — the sunrise is worth it). Perfect destination for a night away if you’re staying in the Tokyo area.
