Hire a (Dog) Professional

It isn’t very expensive to get a professional trainer to come to your house and consult before or after your new dog friend gets home. I don’t get the sense that all of these folks are all that credentialed, but they have seen a lot of different dogs in a lot of different circumstances, and getting someone in early can really help set the patterns for success in the future.
