Dungeon Crawler Carl is a Brand New Genre

Recommended by Joe

Reading these books is like watching martial arts movies or opera: they require you to learn how they work in order to enjoy them. At first blush they don’t sound fun, or even intelligible, and be prepared to bounce off of the beginning a time or two.

That said, when you learn the rules of this brand new genre (and the genre rules include multiple chapter explanations of literal rules) they are delightful.

Perfectly unserious summer reading that is easy to tear through. Beware of the rabid fan base who will (politely) interrupt your reading to tell you much they love the series.

“One of the most fun sci-fi post apocalypse books which you live through as a game that I have read in a long time. Couldn’t put it down.”

Joy Fowlkes

“This is a very simple gift to throw in the mix that will make a tough time feel a little easier. It’s just really fun and funny. I have yet to meet someone who didn’t love the first book (snobs included).”
