Throwing Things at Other Things Outdoors
A few of the many possibilities, roughly in order of delight:
Bocce
Darts if you have outdoor darts
Shuffleboard (the big kind like you might find on the deck of a cruise ship)
Cornhole
Horseshoes
A key criteria for adding a new entry to that list should be “can you drink while playing.” A key ranking criteria for activities once admitted is “how easily can you imagine an old man who could handily beat you at this game.” Ties go to the most bohemian imaginary old man.

Our fave version of this is Shovelball. You need a shovel, a football, and a beach. Stick the shovel head-side down in the sand, then toss the football to try to knock the shovel down. Every time you hit the shovel, you have to move back some number of steps and try to hit it from the new further spot. There's usually no official end to this game, usually you just keep going until your 8-year-old gets bored.
