From the album The Oddfellows' Hall (Spunk Records 2018)
"I knocked your mother up in the dunnies at the White Cockatoo"
One of the more distinctly Australian opening lines of a song that you'll hear, from one of the most distinctly Australian bands of recent times. A vulnerable and funny song about the anxiety of oncoming parenthood, and just one of the gems from the treasure trove of guitar pop that The Ocean Party created over several years (in addition to spawning dozens of side projects).
This was the band's final album with Zac Denton who tragically passed away in 2018, with the Ocean Party finishing up not long there after. I'll always listen to their music, and always be grateful for it.
