Measuring with a Kitchen Scale

There’s just something so satisfying about being able to bake something and having nothing to wash but a bowl or two at the end. Plus it’s faster. Plus every time I zero out the scale for the next ingredient it feels like magic even though it’s the simplest thing.

I have the pictured KitchenAid one which I like a lot. The glass surface is nice, and the multipurpose knob that does everything—power, units of measurement, zeroing—is such an elegant control. But if I had it to do over again I’d be awfully tempted by the Oxo one as it’s really well-reviewed, and the display pulls out from the scale, which would be so helpful for larger bowls. Almost triple the price though so idk.

Bonus: if you’re gonna use Pirate Ship to send packages you’ve gotta be able to weigh them, and it’s great for that too!
