Trick or Treat (Movie)

DAY 22

Very metal, very Halloween, very 80s. What's not to love?!

We have young Gene Simmons as a confidant DJ to the bullied Eddie, Ozzy as a nutty televangelist, and a most memorable performance by Tony Fields as Sammi Curr, a character admired so much by the Trick or Treat fanbase, you'd think he's an actual heavy metal front man!

The film pokes fun at the Satanic Panic of its era and is dated in some areas but is mostly a good time, due to Tony Fields's performance and due to the most excellent stylings of the band Fastway, who performs most of the movie's music. It might be hard to register but the lead vocals of Fastway belong to none other than Flogging Molly front man, Dave King, who was most indeed a metalhead before starting the Dublin-based band.

If you love metal, 80s horror, and Halloween, I'm not sure if any other movie quite ticks all the boxes like this one.

No. False. Metal.

(Check out the songs "Trick or Treat", "After Midnight" and "Stand Up" from the soundtrack. They are just so killer, I'd even understand if you skipped the whole movie just to listen to these songs. They are soooo worth it!)
