Picnic at Hanging Rock (Joan Lindsay)
$39.96
When I watched Virgin Suicides, I had no idea Sofia Coppola was influenced by Peter Weir's film adaptation of Picnic at Hanging Rock.
When I watched Picnic at Hanging Rock, I absolutely saw the correlation and both are equally mesmerizing in their own way.
Treat yourself to the movie after reading the book...I don't know how many books I read just because of the movie treat awaiting me after I finished the source material but there's been plenty! It's eating your veggies before dessert: good for the body, good for the soul ;)

“I’m on a major Australian film and lit kick right now. This is a deliriously horny bizarre vibey mystery. Lifetime movie on acid. Makes a great double feature with “Walkabout””
claudia
“the lisbon sisters in another timeline where they found a huge rock that may or may not include an alien abduction”
