only using your lookalikes as your style/beauty inspo

I showed my pinterest style board to a good friend, and as she was scrolling through, she said, "all of these girls look like you." I think that after a childhood of media consumption dominated by rail-thin bodies, pin-straight hair and fake tans, I had to decide to stop focusing on the kinds of beautiful I'm not and only focus on the kinds of beautiful I am.

There's a similar theory going around on social media right now about body types being like dog breeds. I'm not a golden retriever, and that's okay, etc.

So shout out Helena Bonham Carter for the frumpy-chic fashion inspo. You have saved me from a lifetime of hating my unruly hair.
