Sofra Bakery: Pickup a cardamom and orange blossom morning bun and a red dragon iced tea (green tea with sour cherry pulp) at Sofra, and walk the Fresh Pond loop. Especially dreamy in the fall when the leaves change.

Walk starting at greystone: Start with a coffee and excellent croissant at Greystone Café in the South End or grab one of their warm chocolate chip cookies. Put Union Park in your Google maps to explore the south end residential streets, with Formaggio as another great spot to landmark. Then walk to the Boston Public Library and check out the art, the courtyard, and the reading room on the second floor. Then walk to the Public Garden, take the obligatory photo at the duckling statues, and move on to Beacon Hill, with Beacon Hill Books and its adorable tea room and children’s room. And then go towards the Charles MGH stop where you can get onto the Esplanade and go for a beautiful walk along the river.

Sarma: Excellent middle eastern small plates. Fun atmosphere. You won’t be able to get a last-minute reservation, but they keep their bar open for walk-ins

Pammy's: Pammy's in Cambridge. Their ambience is perfect and the lumache with gochujang bolognese is not to be missed!

Field and Vine, Somerville: Had a wonderful meal here a couple of years back (fingers crossed it’s still as stellar as it was). Nothing missed, really warm service too. The photos make it look a little folksy/crunchy but it’s really top notch and refined food.
