Essaouira: Don’t miss this seaside village in Morocco. The ocean keeps it very cool, and the food and lodgings are amazing. I found it enchanting and a nice break from the chaos of Marrakech (about an hour away). Best fried fish, and souks. So calm.

The Alhambra - book your tickets now!: Far too many people I know have gone to Granada and missed this because you have to book well in advance. It is so worthwhile. I loved the gardens, too.
