listening to new music from your old favorite artists

this one is especially for new parents (but also anyone who identifies as middle aged): you are experiencing childhood for the second time. you are basically Double Alive and it's intense. you need to be soothed with something familiar, but also encouraged that this time around will be different. it doesn't matter if the music is objectively "worse" because so are you, you are old and tired and less hot. but you are also still growing and expanding every day. the artists you once loved are too.
