I saw this right at closing time and was 95% sure of what I was looking at but still wanted to do my due diligence regarding bobbin types, potential hidden internal plastic parts, astandard needle sizes, etc. At home research yielded only good things, so we rushed back first thing the next day before work and grabbed it, and at half off because it was our discount day, too! Oddly enough, it had been donated by the estate of a neighbor on our same street, who had recieved it as a wedding present and then...never used it. I took it apart, learned how to service it, my husband taught himself how to sew, and it's been our daily driver ever since. It passes the William Morris sniff test and is such a joy to sew with. Straight-stich only, but powerful enough for multiple layers of heavy duty canvas and delicate enough or crepe silk.
