Oh cool!! I’ve seen skunks in Greenwood but I have also seen a bat there! Not to complicate things.

I have spent very minimal time in Green Wood unfortunately so I didn't know the skunks were a thing (only the parakeets) but iNaturalist was a fun way to find that out (was randomly searching animals!). And there are definitely bats in Green Wood but the side-by-side difference for both species when these parks are very geographically close is super interesting to me!

No that’s super interesting! And I have only ever seen the one bat. Wish we could interview them about why they prefer certain parks

Using iNaturalist turns your everyday walks into real scientific contributions- take a photo of a plant, insect, or animal and the community helps identify it. Your observations help researchers track biodiversity, monitor species populations, and better understand how nature is changing around us

It is so fun to discover what is around you. And to contribute to citizen science.

If you walk around and wonder “what’s this?!” at living things you see, there’s an app for that.
