the head and the heart

started by josiah johnson in 2009, but he’s no longer a member. current lineup: jonathan russell (vocals, guitar, percussion), charity rose thielen (violin, guitar, vocals), chris zasche (bass), kenny hensley (piano), tyler williams (drums), and matt gervais (guitar, vocals).

hauntingly beautiful vocals with a rich acoustic sound. it’s woeful and yearning, yet earnest all the same. my favorite tune is “rivers and roads”.
