A small marvel created by Carrie Stettheimer, one of the fabulous Stettheimer sisters (her sister Florine has paintings in The Met, among other places). The Stettheimers were pals with a who's who of artists, and the gallery in Carrie's dollhouse includes actual tiny works of art made by their famous friends—Marcel Duchamp even made her a mini version of Nude Descending a Staircase.
If you go, look for the Noah's Ark painting in the nursery: "The decor of the design spared no detail, reflecting the decor of the family’s Manhattan home; Stettheimer crafed Empire wallpaper, Limoges vases, Louis XV furniture, pots, pans, and everything else seemingly imaginable. A painting of Noah’s ark in a nursery shows the three sisters, with their pets on leashes, waiting to board the ark itself."
Bonus: If you visit MCNY around Thanksgiving, they have a display of gingerbread mansions.
