Marika Gems: Rocky River, Ohio

Tucked in amongst the shops of Old Rocky River is a hidden jewel for finding jewels. Marika is a trained gemologist with an inimitable eye, and the antique cases in her gemlike showroom glitter with vintage treasures—lapis cats with golden eyes, watery aquamarines, rose quartz and amber figa charms, chalcedony skulls, buttery golden wedding bands and chains. I have an old gold ring set with a gray star sapphire I got here that I wear all the time; feels like wearing a piece of moonlight. There's also an online shop, if you aren't local.
