Seed and flower catalogs and imaginary gardening
Recommended by even*cleveland
I love my actual weed-ridden + tempermental garden deeply, but I also love my imagined garden, where there is plenty of sun and rain and everything flourishes and thrives and I am unfettered by zone recommendations and climate realities. I access it through the pages of seed and flower catalogs: Schreiners, Schneepers, Van Engelen, David Austin, Kitazawa ... the list goes on, but each one offers its visions.

10000%. Last year my friend and I went through the swan island dahlia catalog together, marking which ones we loved with our initials, and then physically cut them out of the magazine to plan a big shared order. It was suuuuch a fun evening. Now when blooms were like, look at this new babe from Swan Island!!! Keeps giving!!!
