Hacienda del Sol, Taos

This historic adobe inn is a peaceful slice of history, with thoughtfully preserved details like exposed wooden vigas, wall niches, and kiva fireplaces. Each room is different, from small rooms for solo travelers to large casitas with a kitchen and living room. Outside, there’s a lovely garden for lounging and taking in the mountain views. It’s the perfect in-between: quieter and more affordable than Hotel Willa, but more central, with the hot tub, free breakfast, and hospitality an Airbnb can’t match.
