The Best Gift I’ve Ever Received

I recommend this to all parents and parents-to-be everywhere!

The best gift I’ve ever received was on my 18th birthday when my parents gave me a stack of 36 letters, one written by each of them on each birthday of my life.

In each letter they wrote about me, what I was like in their eyes, what I liked to do at that age, what I was saying. (My preschool teacher’s observations of me from parent teacher conference night, my concerns with friends and middle school dances.) They also wrote about their own lives, their relationship, what was happening in the world, what they were worried and hopeful about. I will treasure this gift forever
