I’m no stranger to a nautical-themed bar. The Galley — along with Chez Jay and HMS Bounty in ktown — is one of LA’s best ⚓️.
Drinks are fine, food is surprisingly good. But that’s not what you’re here for. You’re here for the overwhelming amount of Christmas lights and nautical accoutrements. You’re here for the little plastic mermaids they hang on every drink. You’re here for “Captain Ron,” the owner who walks around and greets customers. You’re here because this place opened in 1934, and in LA terms, that’s prehistoric.
they don’t make em like this anymore, kids ⚓️🚢

“Santa Monica’s oldest restaurant and bar feels like eating on a wooden ship.”
