Line up a lactation consultant before your baby is born

I had a rocky start to breastfeeding, but I worked with a wonderful lactation consultant in Santa Barbara (that rec is in my SB collection) who helped us find our way. I wish I had lined her up before my daughter was born, but I had no idea that it would be so difficult for me. Now I always suggest this to expecting mothers. Besides the benefit for you and the baby, breastfeeding is so much easier than formula in many ways - no bottles, no bottle washing, no mixing on the go, no buying formula (!), no pumping, etc - so if you are interested and you can, I think it's really worth investing in support for your breastfeeding journey.
