I have a two year old and people don't believe me when I tell them I have changed only a handful of poopy diapers in the last two years. But it's true! Eric (and my mother-in-law and pretty much everyone else) thought I was certifiably insane when I first mentioned I wanted to try Elimination Communication, but everyone has been amazed to see it work in action. It's not woo-woo and it's also not rocket science - it's a very practical approach to baby poop/pee that humans used to practice, and it's still what many people do intuitively in developing countries without access to disposable diapers. Anyway, if you, your partner, your parents, and/or your childcare provider have the ability to do this with your baby some or all of the time, it's worth doing some research and trying it out. You will be in awe! You can do it part time or full time. It doesn't have to be all or nothing. We decided to start Elimination Communication with my daughter at 8 weeks. We got her a little toilet and paid attention to her signals that she needed to go, and we would bring her to the toilet each time to pee and poop. It became very easy to catch. Eventually, when she was walking around, she was able to take herself to the toilet when she needed to go. We have saved an enormous amount on diapers over the last two years, and we have saved her/ourselves from a million diaper changes. Not to mention she has never really had diaper rash. At first she wore a diaper to catch anything we missed, but then that stopped. And we put her in a diaper at night until she woke up dry. Nowadays, she only wears diapers some nights and when we travel. I didn't buy any specific guide/resource on EC, though there are popular books on the subject. I personally don't think you need to buy anything to learn this method because it's straight-forward and there's plenty of free information available on YouTube (videos were the most helpful for me) and on Reddit. I will post the toilet we use at home, and the foldable toilet we use on the go (which has been clutch). Good luck!
