Children of time: I think about the ending to this book at least once a week. I read it five years ago.

All of Adrian Tchaikovsky’s books are mind-bending in a way that somehow makes me a better human. You spend so long inside a completely nonhuman way of seeing the world that you come out a little less convinced ours is the only one that makes sense.

Revelation Space (Alastair Reynolds): Exceptionally good space opera with some horror elements. Think baroque kilometer-long spaceships, nanotechnology gone very wrong, and an archaeological mystery that could result in the end of the human race.

Revelation Space is the first in a trilogy; Reynolds has other books set in the same universe if you enjoy these.

Dungeon Crawler Carl series: I might be basic but I just really love Dungeon Crawler Carl. The Soundbooth audio version is fantastic.
