Platonic Ideal of Barrel Leg Jeans

Did I try on something like 45 pairs of barrel-leg jeans in a spree across London a few weeks ago? Yes. And did I find exactly zero that fit in a way that wasn't terribly cartoonish in their proportions, miserably tight in the crotch, weirdly cropped (or long), or just plain meh? Also yes. I left London bereft. And then I found these. And they're great! The side panel does the job without making the crotch all weird. The back seams make the waist look good and give my post-kids pancake ass a personality. I would buy them again in a heartbeat.
