Sorting your laundry before packing

This only applies if you are traveling with more than one person in your household, and thus have more than one bag. On the way home, instead of having each person pack their clothes in the their own suitcase, sort your dirty clothes as you would laundry and then pack each category in its own bag. That way when you're home you can just open a bag and dump it in the washing machine, but — crucially — do not need to splay a week's work of dirty laundry on the floor to sort it then. Everything can stay nice and packed away until its time in the wash.
