my piano teacher (circa third grade) asked me to play the finale at recital that year which was always yann tiersen’s comptine d’un autre été l’après-midi. at the time i of course hadn’t seen the movie. little did i know this would be a very formative experience for me once i did see the film (analog photobooths, cinema, france)
