New York City Marble Cemetery

This is a weird one, fair warning, because I’ve actually never once been inside (though I’ve wanted to - it’s just only open to the public like once a month): the Marble Cemetery on E 2nd is so charming and peaceful. It’s sort of my dream one day to live in one of the apartments that borders it. Just walking past is beautiful. One of my very favorite places in Manhattan, tbh.

Have you seen Saint Patricks Cemetery on Mullberry street? It’s behind a brick wall but there are little metal peephole type doors you can open to look in. One time I looked in and there were SHEEP… sheep in Manhattan!

I haven’t seen this no!! I love that so much :) when I was living in NY in 2019 there was an initiative to use goats to mow Riverside Park lol - not sure if that’s still happening but it was extremely cute. Unexpected sheep even better, though.

The sheep were there to mow! there was a sign that referred to them as “lambscapers” :)
