Ergo Proxy (2006)

You watched Ghost in the Shell and did not think it was esoteric enough, so you watched Ghost in the Shell 2 Innocence. You thought it wasn't pretentious enough. Relies a bit too much on having taken a Philosophy 101 class but no other anime comes close to its aesthetic. Amazing music. Will require multiple rewatches or a companion guide.

TASTE. One of my favorite intros of all time, too.

YES. First time I watched it I could not believe how good and fitting the intro was. Also, RADIOHEAD? In an anime?!

“Adolescent emo girl (me, 10) never stood a chance against anime psychthriller Amy Lee. The intro is one of the best anime intros of all time and I wish it got more love.”
