Intense blue (aka: Yves Klein/cobalt territory).

All my life, I was never drawn to blue. Any blues. And then BOOM!! I turned 50 and my eyeballs are like magnets whenever something bright and blue shows up (oftentimes from a distance, too). This is one of the bedrooms in the Philip Johnson house that was for sale in Westchester in 2017. I was immediately so charmed by the well-worn cobalt linen bedspread. Like the black and white stripes, this shade of blue cuts through all the noise like a tuning fork and gives a table or a corner of a room a purpose. The photo got me searching for linen bedspreads, of which I found zero, but I did manage to find this sweet one from IKEA’s Stockholm collection. For $70, it’s a room changer.
