If you have trouble falling or staying asleep and trouble waking up, I can't recommend this baby enough. I've had sunrise alarm clocks for years and after struggling with some ambient noise outside our apartment waking me up at night I started researching white noise machines.
Enter the Hatch!
But the real kicker is the routines you can set up to trigger your brain and body that it's time for sleep. I have mine set to begin with sunset-style lighting and soft piano music about 30 minutes before I need to be asleep. I crawl into bed and just like Pavlov's dog the noise and gentle light have totally trained me to go to sleep. Then white noise continues until the sunrise alarm goes off in the morning.
There's meditation audio, music, birdsong, tons of different options! There's even Gilmore Girls music to wake up to for perfect sweater weather.

“There is life before my Hatch (doomscrolling, phone first thing in morning) and life after. A physical alarm clock that wakes me up without anxiety? Yeah. YEAH. Leave your phone charging in another room or just get a hatch. OR BOTH. Also not the point but really pretty sexy lighting at night if that's your jam.”

“Okay, so I need to admit that I have changed my tune about the Hatch. I’m really striving to live an analog life, and I even purchased the same ancient Braun travel alarm clock that lived on my parents’ nightstand for my entire childhood. I neglected to remember, in my haze of nostalgic analog smugness, that waking up to a real alarm clock is by no means a gentle process. It’s more like a dousing”

“Waking up to loud, horrible noises? Hard pass. This wakes you up with lovely soft light, and then adds (for me) the sound of birds singing. But for you it could be chimes or any other pleasant selection of sounds. But birds singing!!”
