Salty face tanning water

I had never been a self tanner girl but this stuff is magic! it’s impossible to do a bad job, isn’t messy, takes like 2 min and leaves you with a glowy even complexion overnight. Saved me as a newborn mom and still swear by it now a year later.

A spray bottle filled with water

Use this to spritz your hair and tame flyaways, address dryness, etc. It's simple. Sometimes I put in a but of hair oil too, and shake it up. I live in a dry climate and my hair looks like death.

Medium-strength dry shampoo with a light scent that isn’t overpowering. I prefer this to Klorane, OUAI, and Batiste.

Ice Roller
•••
I’ve had this ice roller since February 2019 when Kate Spencer on Forever35 told me it was life changing. It certainly is! Depuff your face, gently ice a bruised eye, cool down on a hot day, entertain a toddler - this thing does it all! ❄️

This looks so unassuming, but wow, what a multitasker this is. It refreshes and calms the skin, and I find it's hydrating enough to help prep the skin before applying makeup. (I have dry skin, so I do still use moisturizer after.) Over time, I found that it got rid of the little bumpies around my brows, cheeks and jaw, and it's gentle enough to use everyday!

Cosrx eye patches

Reasonably priced and effective under eye patches that don’t irritate sensitive skin and make you both feel and look more awake (even tho it’s a lie!). Put on 15-20 min before leaving the house, feel at least 15-20% more like a human.

Just the best no makeup-makeup. Feels like nothing, blends out beautifully with a brush or fingers, and completely brightens and evens out my skin.

this + eyebrow gel + a spritz of rose water was my ultimate “let’s leave the house quickly but still look alive” routine during the first 3 months of postpartum. you can swipe it on and then pack your diaper bag or change baby. by the time you’re actually ready to leave, peel/wipe it off and you’re out the door

Medusa’s Heirlooms Narrow French Barrette
•••
I’m five months postpartum, and my hair is longer than it’s been in years. I figure I’ll wait to cut it after I know whether or not it’s going to start falling out! Combined with a grabby baby, that means the hair has to go up. I just bought this barrette when I kept having to adjust my lil claw when I put the back of my head on the bed or couch or car headrest, and it makes me feel classic and cool.

Dr. Jart+ Cicapair™ Camo Drops Tinted Serum

I know we've moved on from the days of 2 in 1 shampoo/conditioner, but a product that does multiple tasks and is super forgiving on application, sign me up. In a rush I'll put this directly on clean skin and it's like magic - lightweight hydration, lightly tinted and the green neutralizes redness for that "no-makeup, makeup" look. Glowy, dewy finish. Side notes: I apply a few drops and blend with my fingers. You will see some streaks of the warm pigment as the product essentially mixes directly on your face. Don't worry, just blend a little more. There's also a version in a jar that's a little heavier if you want more coverage.

High quality, affordable, and slightly tinted so it's like a BB cream and sunscreen in one. There's a very high UV / lack of ozone layer over Australia & NZ so a good sunscreen is essential :)

Clinique Cleansing Balm
•••
Not exactly an oil, but it has a similar but smoother consistency to coconut oil (which I used to use on my face). It's a makeup remover and cleanser in one which I love - i like the idea of having products that work extra hard so you don't need a million different things. This is without a doubt the best make up remover and cleanser I have used, it literally removes every inch of foundation and gunk and grime like nothing else i've tried can. Not cheap, but lasts for ages and is worth every cent in my opinion!
