For the situation where your personal item is your only bag and you’ll be hauling it around for a while completely full, I think this is better than a shoulder bag. But don’t buy the lie about the panel for slipping this on a rolling bag—the positioning makes it too hard to use. I used this bag hard for about two years and then the top near the laptop zipper started to rip which is not ideal. That said, I think most users would not run into this problem. The true value of this bag is the internal organization system and the fact that it maxes out the under-seat dimensions. If you know of a similarly chic, dimension maximizing option that’s a little bit hardier, I would love to hear about it!
