You don't buy every bottle to drink immediately. Some are meant to wait. Books are the same. You don't have to read each one the moment you bring it home. Build a library for your future self. Then, when you’re craving something hopeful, or inspiring, or melancholic, or funny, or suspenseful - the perfect book will be on your shelf just waiting for you to crack its spine.

I just went to Powells today and bought more books to add to my collection and was feeling guilty for buying more books when I have so many still to read. But then I remembered that I love being surrounded by books and the more you have around, the easier you can find one for whatever mood you’re in :) your post was a great reminder!

I visited Powell’s for the first time last weekend: HEAVEN!! I showed much restraint and only brought home 4 books to add to my overburdened TBR shelf.
