All steel parts and no computerized parts. I wanted the Bernina 1008, but couldn’t find it second hand and found this similar option instead. I’ve used it on delicate clothing to denim jeans and home projects as well. Just got it cleaned and serviced and the shopkeeper agreed that it was a good machine, esp for the price.

Have you tried the button hole function? I have a Janome mod19 and it makes terrible buttonholes so Im looking for an upgrade

Yes! It’s a more manual 4-step buttonhole maker - literally turning the knob to make all 4 sides of the buttonhole. I love it, and was one of the features I sought out. It’s the same as the Bernina 1008 buttonhole maker. Total control and I haven’t messed up a buttonhole since!
