The Interval at Long Now + Blue Bear piano rental

The Interval is known for its cocktails but is also a lovely café during the day. They have the best tea in SF courtesy of Song Tea that they prepare fastidiously in glass vessels and then pour into beakers with with precious stoppers. I assume their coffee is equally thoughtful. It's quiet, I was actually able to read in peace and work on my laptop without headphones on. The dub reggae helped, too.

It is actually crazy that I hadn't been here before, given how long I've lived in the Bay Area and my tech and cultural interests. I was expecting a more nerdily offputting vibe due the steam punk aesthetics, a cocktail called Hacker Club, and the damn clock. It was happily more Museum of Jurassic Technology-adjacent in spirit.

And then oh wow, rent a piano practice room at Blue Bear School of Music around the corner for $5/hr. I brought Philip Glass sheet music!
