Star vs. the Forces of Evil: Struggling to summarize all of the reasons why this show is amazing but I can tell you that I have revisited so many scenes that make me laugh, and the overall arc of the show is near-perfect. Oh and Jenny Slate shows up as a recurring character!

Also love Adventure Time and Gravity Falls.

Luke & Noah's story - ATWT: A very old what I assume was a television series on youtube about two gay guys. But because of how old it is, an episode is split up into 3-7 minute long parts, which isn't even that big of a deal, I just thought I would mention it. It is a lost media gem, it's great, please just trust me

Delicious in Dungeon: Adventurers making gourmet meals out of monsters they slay in a dungeon. Script is great. I don’t watch too many anime’s but this one is so cozy and lovely. Very niche.

Over the Garden Wall: Oh, Potatoes and Molasses / If you want some, oh, just ask us / There're warm and soft like puppies and socks / Filled with cream and candy rocks

Oh, Potatoes and Molasses / They're so much sweeter than algebra class / If your stomach is grumbling / And your mouth starts mumbling / There's only one thing to keep your brain from crumbling

Oh, Potatoes and Molasses / If you can't see 'em put on your glasses / They're shiny and large like a fisherman's barge / You know you've had enough when you start seeing stars

Oh, Potatoes and Molasses / It's the only thing left on your task list / They're short and stout they'll make everyone shout

For Potatoes and Molasses!

Ouran High School Host Club (2006): This is going to seem like an out-of-left field suggestion but it's one of my favorite animated series, let alone anime, of all time. It's only one season so it's very digestible.

The set up is Fujioka Haruhi is a special scholarship student that is attending the prestigious Ouran High School where only the most elite and rich kids attend. They do an oopsie in the first 5 minutes of the show and go into debt and must pay it off by working in the titular host club.

For a show that came out in 2006 it handles a lot of subject matter shockingly well. It never makes punch lines out of marginalized characters. A club full of rowdy, pretty boys are all actually very tender and kind and considerate. They have their character flaws but they work through it because of their friendships and understanding. There's love. It's a comedy. It's actually a parody of a lot of other host-club shows and does the thing where it both makes fun of and subverts common tropes. There's other themes of dealing with loss, abandonment, fears, societal expectations, breaking out of gender norms, mutual aid, companionship, jealousy. And it's all handled extremely delicately. I cannot recommend this show enough.

Dogs in Space: Not sure how well it follows Daria (a favorite!), but genuinely love Dogs in Space—wish they hadn’t canceled it. But I think it’s still worth a watch!
