Aisling Bea, who wrote and starred in this show, is undeniably the funniest person in every room she’s in. She’s quick, charming, and a crackling good time.

So is her alter ego here, Aine, and the genius of the show is its exploration of what the funniest person you know is trying to cover up. It deals so deftly with depression and other deeper topics while somehow also staying light and sharp.

Yes! Thank you! It’s on my list but I haven’t gotten to it yet. It’s so strange the way brains work — two seasons of a recommended show feel like a doable length, but four feels intimidating? 😆 But I know, I should just jump in!

Oh yeah true! But it’s British length so 6 eps per season, and I loved both of these shows so much I’d take more!

The scene where the sisters sing “Zombie” can make me laugh just thinking about it. 😂

“This show is funny & dark & comforting all in one. Can’t beat the combo of Aisling Bea and Sharon Horgan, who play sisters. Cozy & dysfunctional like all the best families.”
