Look Away - Chicago (1988)

This was certainly a popular radio song of its time (or I wouldn’t have heard it!), but whenever it comes on now, I realize I’m the only person I know who still knows every melodramatic word, so.

You maybe had to have been a child when it first came out, but it was my first intro to songs that tell a story, and where the story was YEARNING. I fell completely for the emotion in it, and as a child still many steps away from puberty, basically felt the sting of unrequited love over and over again for four minutes at a time.
