Trio

Recommended by Annie B.

Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton, and Linda Ronstadt had a supergroup in the late 80s/early 90s called Trio. They put out two excellent albums, but my favorite is Trio II (because of "High Sierra," "Blue Train," and an excellent "After the Gold Rush" cover). It's good for easy listening, walking, morning coffee, wine on the back patio, or your nightly legs-up-the-wall wind-down.

My sister has Trio on vinyl! I had never heard of it and no one I mention it to ever knows of it either. Their voices together ugh

Literally just got out of the car to go get a coffee and was blasting After the Gold Rush. What a goodie!

Coffee + After the Gold Rush is an excellent combo.

This is the best. I found Trio I on vinyl, but I’m still looking for Trio II. Harley Allan was an incredible songwriter who wrote the song High Sierra met friends

He died young very sadly, but I met his widow at a bonfire where we were all passing around the guitar and we sang a few of his songs together, including High Sierra, it was such a special moment. I want to record one of his songs one day. Such a legend.

Wow!! What an incredible connection. That is so cool. I hope you're able to find Trio II on vinyl. I'm on the hunt as well (though, honestly, I might even take it as a CD at this point...).

Yes! Same! I’ll also include another favorite Harley Allen song, Stray Dogs & Alley Cats. There’s a version on YouTube of him playing it at the Station Inn.

Great rec! I would imagine seeing this live is really the ideal way to experience it.
