Don’t sleep on pet insurance

Does it cover a lot? No. However, it can save you THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS of dollars for emergencies, hospitalizations, end-of-life care, and major disease treatment. My dog’s insurance shots are even covered. All you need is one emergency trip to the pet hospital and being quoted $5.5k for one night of care for you to thank the pet insurance gods.

I use Healthy Paws and have been very happy with them. I did my research in 2019 so there might be better options now. Also, some employers have arrangements that will let you use pre-tax dollars to pay your premiums!

Mine does indeed cover a LOT. I’ve gotten better at learning the system and knowing the best ways to be proactive with my particular company, but I’m sure it varies according to lots of different factors.
