Bike up to Hawk Hill for the sunrise

It’s always stunning but if you’re lucky the fog will be at the perfect level so the top towers of the Golden Gate Bridge are peeking out thru the fluffy wet bed of cloud. The call and response of the fog horns adds to the magic. Bring a bike light and good brakes - the descent is not for the faint of heart. Best route goes up to Hawk Hill, down the backside, up again past NPS employee housing to the roundabout, down under the bridge to the fishing pier, then back to Sausalito via East Road. Stop at Equator Coffee on your way back (if it’s open).
