Haus der Musik: Of all the museums in Vienna, this (and the Computer and Gaming Museum) are at the top of my list. Very cool interactive exhibits in addition to the usual classical music history. On the top floor you can virtually conduct the Vienna Philharmonic.

Salonplafond im MAK (restaurant): One of my tried and true favorites in Vienna, located in the MAK (Museum of Applied Arts). In the summer, they have a lovely terrace tucked away from the noise and in the winter, sit in their lush dining room. The ornate ceiling  always takes my breath away. Stylish, modern Austrian food.

Strandbad Gänsehäufel: There are lots of great public pools in Vienna but the locals love to cool off in the summer by swimming in the (clean!) Donau river! Gänsehaufel is an island on the old Danau. It is accessible by bridge and has lots of shady spots to picnic, swimming pools, stand up paddling and places to eat.

Glein Atelier & Shop: Amazing Vienna-designed clothing and leather products, all sustainably and ethically made in small batches. Very cute shop in the 8th district. I have a navy sweatshirt that I’ve been washing for 5 years and it still looks perfect.

The Gardens of Schönbrunn Palace: Schönbrunn is basically a mini Versaille, except it's actually right in the city rather than a 45-minute drive away. While you have to pay entry to tour the palace, I actually prefer to stroll the gardens for free. My favorite route is up to the Marionette and over to the Palmenhaus. Easy to get to on the subway.
