Giving birth in ~4 weeks (at hospital). What are we wearing there/home? Any and all recommendations for what to wear/bring. And any other hospital birth recommendations to make it as cozy and calming as possibleeee. Thank you

Treat yourself: Just got home with my third! Highly endorse things already mentioned: Bluetooth speaker, favorite snacks, egg lamp or hatch for night feeds, button down pajamas

Would add: very soft toilet paper, a little treat for yourself (very fancy new hairbrush! Luxe travel shampoo! Lotion that’s more expensive than it has any right to be! Birthstone earrings! Your pick, just something to make you feel like the extra special queen you are), a fluffy towel for that first glorious postpartum shower

Hospital Bag Essentials: Bring: Sleep mask & sound machine (bought the travel Hatch and used it for traveling with my kid ever since). Also, someone has to say it, pack the Depends.

Wear: If you’re anything like me - comfy clothes you literally never want to wear again, ha.

𝑏𝑙𝑒𝑠𝑠𝑖𝑛𝑔𝑠 𝑜𝑛 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑙𝑎𝑏𝑜𝑟𝑤𝑎𝑙𝑘!! 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑔𝑜𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑠!!💗🌠: i would bring warm socks, a favorite throw blanket or shawl, cozy robe or nightgown you can labor in but also breastfeed in. your favorite water bottle/mug with electrolytes/tea and special snacks. bonus points for tiny travel speaker if you want to labor with music or listen to something special once babe is in your arms and you’re waiting to be discharged. baby can be naked, wrapped in a hospital baby blanket and hat but if it were me i’m picky so i’d bring the specific diaper and outfit i feel most comfortable having them wear. don’t forget phone keys wallet car seat. and a cooler if you plan to bring home your placenta☆彡!

Cosy Pajamas: Button-up pjs - I brought both lightweight cotton and flannel since I was unsure how cold it would be, plus a robe! If you are having a c-section, a nightgown will be the better option. It was sweltering when I had my daughter, so I threw on a lightweight, flowy dress for the ride home. But my biggest rec is flip flops for showering! Get some $1 ones from old navy. Additionally, bringing my own pillow really helped.

Long t-shirt dress: What to wear: big t-shirt dress. Something easy to take on or off, plus access to the baby during triage, if you catch my drift. TBH I remember packing a million things only to just be laying in my hospital gown the entire time.

Everything else: Tiny sound machine (this one doubles as an Bluetooth speaker), extra long charging cords, a good lip balm, personal socks and blanket might be the top of my list. Everything else was just stuff to carry. Hot take is maybe less is more bc you’ll be focused on rest 🤞 and baby.
