I am always curious to hear it from the teachers. My kids are young and their teachers’ jobs are… so tough. Thank you ❤️

I taught elementary for 14 years. It is definitely the hardest job in education — love teaching middle school now! — but it is the best incubator for learning how to teach exceptionally well.

Of all the grades, I think my middle school teachers made the biggest impact in my life. Also: note to self to remember this when I’m wrecked with anxiety of my kid getting a step closer to middle school 😅😅😅

This resonates so deeply! I’m 31 and just started my career in education/early literacy as a K-3 reading tutor at a public charter elementary school. It’s not the job that I envisioned having in my 20s, and now I simply couldn’t imagine doing anything else. So happy I made the leap.

I think about going into teaching all the time, at nearly 40 it feels like I might finally have the maturity and fortitude. The teachers in my life and my children's life have been and are immeasurably important.

I’m in library school, and my programs has a path that includes a teaching certification. Thank you for teaching AND sharing your enthusiasm for the work!
