I’ve left the world of big tech behind to become a reading tutor at an elementary school this year 🙏🏻 I haven’t worked a 5-day-a-week in person job in 6.5 years. I’d love to build up a teacher wardrobe without breaking the bank. A couple of staples that I can build outfits around, plus shoe and backpack/lunch bag recommendations would be awesome! Ty!

You may not be standing as much as a classroom teacher, but I bet you’ll do a lot of walking to and from classrooms on hard floors. A great pair of clogs will save your feet and back… utilitarian Dansko or something fancier, like Bryr.

You can dress quite casually as a teacher! T-shirts or button downs + jeans are most people’s go to’s.

“purchased a pair of these summer 2024 and have worn them basically nonstop since. The staples on the sides are threatening to pop out at any moment. I have pretty flat feet and these offer great arch support and I love how they just slip on (I love a good slip on shoe). I have not injured myself in these but if you have weak ankles I’d opt for ones with a closed back”

“These are great standing shoes, a little slow on the walking front, but very comfortable. They are more stable than usual dansko professionals. Since I got these, three other people at work got them and like them.
