i’m now of an age where friends are having babies, & for the best of mom-friends (the True Appreciators of baby finery) i’ve gotten in the habit of knitting Florence Merlin’s baby cardigan. i can crank one out in a few sessions. compared to knitting for adults, making baby clothes is instant gratification; the fine drape of fabric knitted from fingering-weight yarn is a delight. tiny pearlescent buttons are a must.
