good at trivia, but I don’t actually have an interest in actually going on the show. What trivia games/apps do you like? Any email subscriptions that send you one fact a day? This is a life-long aspiration, so ways to retain knowledge for the long-haul are fantastic.

Learned League: It’s a wonderful community of big ol’ nerds all competing in head-to-head trivia matches. You need a referral from a friend, but the conceit is: everyone is assigned to a group of 22-30 people. Over 25 weekdays, you go head to head against the other people in your group. Everyone in the league answers the same six questions, and you assign points to the questions for your opponent based on how easy/hard you think the question will be for your opponent. It is a fun daily trivia practice, and you often learn a lot in the process.

Twentyroll Trivia Games: One learning principle that will help you retain knowledge is spaced repetition, a research-backed technique that presents information multiple times at increasing intervals so that you move it from short-term to long-term memory. A little searching turned up this trivia game that seems to incorporate spaced repetition and recall techniques. If you try it, let me know what you think!
